Origins of photography

Since photography was first invented it has had a huge impact on our world. Photos make people feel like those in the photographs are there with them and not halfway around the world. Also photography has allowed people to remember the dead and the photos were more accurate than the paintings. It has also helped a lot with research and also helping people understand world problems. Pictures express emotions too and sometimes you can feel them when looking at the picture. ”A picture is worth a thousand words”-Fred R. Barnard

The first photography method was first invented in the 1830’s by Nicéphore Niépice. This type of photography was called heliography. In heliography you would have a silver plate covered in a substance similar to tar. You would then put it inside of a wooden box and let it sit in front of a window for at least eight hours(for a picture to form). After eight hours you would then remove the silver plate and wash the plate in a mixture of oil, lavender, and white petroleum. Afterwards you would remove the silver plate from the liquid and air dry it on a drying rack. And then you would have a picture!
